Alpine County’s 20th annual Markleeville Creek Day will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2019, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Join us for a day of restoration projects throughout Alpine County's watersheds!

In 2018, Creek Day volunteers accomplished the following:

60 feet of streambank stabilized and 250 willow stakes planted in Hope Valley

20 bags of invasive bull thistle rosettes removed from Grover Hot Springs State Park
-
7 feet x 3 feet x 75 feet of brush boxes with willow, alder, and pine tree clippings built to remediate two headcuts in Grover meadow, stabilizing nearly 75 feet of Hot Springs Creek bank

10 native trees wrapped for beaver protection, 6 picnic tables stained, and 2 bags of trash removed, as well as weeds mowed in the picnic area at Heritage Park

Trail to town from Heritage Park cleared and stairway raked
